Die  Interdisziplinäre Gesellschaft für Komparatistik und Kollisionsrecht (IGKK) lädt in Zusammenarbeit mit dem International Center for Advanced and Comparative EU-Russia (NIS) Research (ICEUR-Vienna) und der Universität Wien in das Dachgeschoss des Juridicums, Schottenbastei 10–16 in 1010 Wien am 2.7.2010 um 11.00 Uhr zu einem Vortrag von Prof. Dr. Suren Avakian (Moskauer Staatliche Universität, Lomonossov) zum Thema „Aktuelle Entwicklungen im russischen Verfassungsrecht“. Prof. Dr. Avakian analysiert die Neuerungen im russischen Verfassungsrecht unter Berücksichtigung der verfassungsrechtlichen Grundlagen von Gesellschaft und Demokratie.  The  XVIIIth International Congress of Comparative Law will take place at American University Washington College of Law, George Washington University Law School, and Georgetown Law from 25 July to 1 August 2010. This weeklong conference of the International Academy of Comparative Law (Paris), which takes place only once every four years, is being held for the first time in the United States and is presented by the American Society of Comparative Law along with the International Academy and the host schools. The program features over forty scholarly programs with some of the most prominent academics, judges, and justices from around the world. Confirmed speakers include Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg of the Supreme Court of the United States and Justice Sabino Cassese of the Italian Constitutional Court, as well as ­Carolyn Lamm, the president of the American Bar Association. Every effort is being made to achieve truly interactive meetings in the Academy-format sessions, which are led by a distinguished chair and a general reporter but which will allow comment and conversation between national reporters from many countries and others in attendance at each session. In addition, the agenda includes a number of panels exploring innovative topics in comparative law. Aside from the academic program, the XVIIIth Congress will include social events, such as breakfasts, lunches, and receptions almost every day and a closing banquet at the Organization of American States on the National Mall. The conference hotel will be the Ritz-Carlton Washington DC, which is offering extraordinary rates for those attending the XVIIIth Congress, but availability is limited.  Vom  16.–28.8.2010 findet die „52. Sommeruniversität für Europarecht“ in Urbino (Italien) statt. Die Kurse befassen sich mit aktuellen Fragestellungen aus den Bereichen des internationalen Privatrechts, des Europarechts und der Rechtsvergleichung. Unterrichtssprachen sind französisch, italienisch und englisch. Als Dozenten konnten Abgeordnete des Europäischen Parlaments, Europabeamte, Praktiker und Hochschulprofessoren u.a. aus Italien, Frankreich und England gewonnen werden. Das erfolgreiche Bestehen der Abschlussprüfungen wird mit dem Diplom in Rechtsvergleichung der rechtswissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Universität Urbino belohnt.
